Dr. Dione Jordan-Hamilton is a dedicated educator, literacy advocate, and lifelong learner with over three decades of experience in the field of education. A proud native of Huntsville, Alabama, she is deeply rooted in her community and committed to advancing literacy and educational excellence at all levels.
​
Dr. Jordan-Hamilton earned her Ph.D. in Reading and Literacy, a credential that reflects both her academic rigor and her passion for empowering learners through evidence-based literacy practices. Her professional journey began in the classroom, where she taught kindergarten and discovered her calling to support early literacy development. Her expertise and leadership soon led her to the role of Reading Coach, where she mentored teachers and designed instructional strategies to improve student reading outcomes.

She later transitioned into higher education, joining the faculty at Alabama A&M University. There, she served in the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership, where she prepared future educators with a strong foundation in literacy instruction and educational leadership. Her work emphasized culturally responsive teaching, research-based reading instruction, and effective coaching practices.

Dr. Jordan-Hamilton is a certified Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher through The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI), holding the C-SLCT credential. This certification highlights her deep knowledge of the science of reading and her commitment to applying structured literacy principles in diverse educational settings.

Currently, Dr. Jordan-Hamilton serves as a consultant for two nationally recognized reading organizations. In these roles, she collaborates with schools, districts, and educational leaders to provide professional development, support curriculum design, and help implement effective literacy programs grounded in the science of reading.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Jordan-Hamilton is a devoted wife, mother of two, and proud grandmother. She brings her personal warmth and passion for lifelong learning to every endeavor, inspiring educators and students alike to pursue excellence through literacy.
